The legend of Dead's Nougat

A long history
Culinary custom of commemorating the dead with a dish of ritual has consolidated a bit 'all over the Italian territory.

Puglia, for example, preparing the table is used with water, bread and wine, while in Sicily children receive sweets as gifts.

In Campania, tradition has it that in those

days you presents the classic "nougat of the Dead": have you ever wondered why?

A centuries-old legend has it that on November 2 the souls of the dead do return to their homes and, for this extraordinary event, relatives pay homage with a table laden with every delicacy.

This old custom has since evolved into the modern age, leading to the present day with special processing: it seems, in fact, that in Castellammare di Stabia are sweethearts exchanging the classic "nougat of the dead", as a good omen.
